The Main Building and the University Square in a magical festive display
In addition to the park's yew trees and the Christmas tree, the Main Building of the University of Debrecen was also dressed in festive lights over the weekend. Every evening during the Advent period, the building and the square will be attractively illuminated with decorative lights, which can be admired via webcam, too.

DEbate - national debate competition in English at the BTK /Faculty of Arts and Humanities/
The team of the Tóth Árpád High School from Debrecen has won the DEbate English-language national debate competition, which was organized again this year by the University of Debrecen's Institute of English and American Studies in cooperation with the Embassy of the United States of America and the American Corner.

University of Debrecen delegation in Uzbekistan
The leaders of the University of Debrecen and representatives of three faculties discussed the strengthening of existing cooperation and the establishment of further relations in the Central Asian country. The delegation’s talks took place at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and four universities.

Tooth fillings with extended life span
Dental fillings and adhesives, including special bulk-fill composites, have been investigated by manufacturers in a recently completed research project at the University of Debrecen's Faculty of Dentistry. The work of the research team was recognised by the publication award of the Gróf Tisza István Foundation for the University of Debrecen.

Ádám Lengyel, a Finance and Accounting student at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Debrecen won the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) Workspace Portfolio Management competition. Over two hundred future economists from 16 countries participated in the prestigious competition.

Ambassador’s visit: in the spirit of partnership
H.E. Gong Tao, the new ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Budapest, has discussed new opportunities for cooperation between the University of Debrecen and Chinese companies as well as institutions of higher education with Rector Zoltán Szilvássy. A top global leader in MÜZLI Pódium
Mr. Jeff Liu, a former CEO of the overseas division of Semcorp Group, was the guest invited to a panel discussion hosted by of the Institute of Engineering and Business Innovation of the University of Debrecen on Tuesday. “You are awarded a doctorate”
The University of Debrecen has held its autumn PhD graduation ceremony traditionally in the framework of the Celebration of Hungarian Science. At the ceremony, 111 candidates received their diplomas, and Habilitated Doctorate and Professor Emeritus titles as well as university awards were also conferred.

EUSA looks forward to the 2024 University Games
The Supervisory Board of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) has visited the University of Debrecen in connection with the organization of the upcoming European Universities Games (EUG). 228 days are left until the Games of next summer. The organizers have finalized the sports programmes, the number of competitors and will soon expect entries.
